About Our Project:
The purpose of our database is to record employee information, customer information, and transaction information all in one place. Prior to the creation of this database, all of this information was kept on separate paper forms, which were stored in cardboard boxes in no particular order. Having this database allows Ocean Beach Park to keep track of who owns which passes, and how many passes they have. Furthermore, having customer contact information allows Ocean Beach Park to easily and efficiently inform customers of updates in pricing, availability of passes, and upcoming events. The information stored in the customer table includes phone number, e-mail address, address, age and residency to ensure that our customers receive the most applicable announcements.
The forms included in the database allow employees with appropriate access to input new customer information, as well as transaction information. The transaction information required for each record includes the type of pass, the pass number, the method of payment, and total price of the sale. The arrangement of the forms allows each employee to enter only the transactions that they took part in. The reports already generated provide Ocean Beach Park management with useful information, such as the proportion of resident customers to non-resident customers, and the date-of-hire of each employee to determine who should be reviewed for a promotion. The accessibility of this information gives Ocean Beach Park numerous opportunity for further growth and prosperity.
